Bob Krishfield gave a report on Exchange Traded Funds (ETF). ETF’s act as a basket of stocks that are traded as an individual stock on the AMEX (American Stock Exchange). The most prominent ETF’s and their equivalent index are Diamonds DJ-30 (Dow Jones); SPDRs (S&P500); Midcap SPDR (S&P400); QQQ (Nasdaq 100); Sector SPDRs (Various sectors); Holders (20 sectors); and Ishares (Various countries/other).

Vic Awdeychuk gave a report on his tracking of the S&P500 over the past two years. His charts indicate that the S&P500 October low is equivalent to the lows reached in 1998 and 1999.

Information regarding the TC2000 investment software workshop to be held in Irvine Nov. 10 and 11 was disseminated.

Ed Kerins gave a report on the latest market forecasts made at the most recent West Coast Cycles group meeting.

Next Month—Phil Brady will give a report on his research into www.folio.com. Stock selection criteria and how they can be used with TC2000 software will be discussion topic.
