The topic for the Hardware SIG for February 4, 2001 was Papers for Printing.

I discussed the manufacturing process and several of the most common types of papers. For more details, see my article Paper Technology in this issue of the March 2001 Orange Bytes.on page10.

We met only at 9:30 a.m. At 2:30 p.m. we listened to Steve Gibson talk about Internet privacy issues. As always, he did an excellent job. Years ago, I would first open every new issue of InfoWorld to read Steve’s weekly column. They were always informative.

The topic for the March 4, 2001 Hardware SIG will be Video Display Monitors. I have finally found a monitor that has excellent specifications. It may be an outstanding monitor, on paper, at least. Unfortunately, it won’
