The C Puzzle Book is an excellent way to extend your knowledge of the C programming language. To solve the problems in the C Puzzle Book you must know the C syntax and decide how it applies to the problem. The revised edition of the C Puzzle Book is now ready to assist you in learning the finer points of C. It is for inter-mediate level C Programmers and the examples are completely compliant with the ANSI C standard. The first half of the book presents the puzzles and the second half is a detailed step-by- step explanation of the correct solutions.There are examples to demonstrate the use and precedence of operators in C statements. Basic Data Types, Included Files, Control Flow, Programming Style, Storage Classes, Pointers and Arrays, Structures, Preprocessor, understanding pointers, array pointers and structures.
The code in this book was not developed to provide examples of good programming code. It was developed to teach C programmers how to interpret what a particular piece of code does. The puzzles are chosen to illustrate why it is important to be cautious with the code you write to prevent unanticipated consequences. They are designed to explain C syntax and semantics.
Alan R. Feuer is a software instructor, author of technical books, and developer of commercial software. His books include The C Puzzle Book, MFC Programming, and The C Trainer; commercial software includes the Always Spreadsheet Publisher and the Safe C Runtime Analyzer. He is also the creator of many programming courses including The C Programming Workshop and Windows Programming Using MFC. From 1976 through 1983, Mr. Feuer was a member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories.
