Short applets are used to display program outputs.Chapters 11 through 20 discuss object-oriented principles such as classes, constructors, interacting with html (hypertext markup language) and simple graphics.
Chapters 21 through 37 get into advanced concepts such as catching errors, inheritance, mouse operations, dialog boxes, frames and Java Beans.
While the examples in the book are written using a command line interface that will work on any operating system, the book includes a CD Rom that has software for Microsoft Windows. It also includes Borland’s JBuilder Development Environment and Sun’s Java 2 software development kit Standard Edition, version 2.0. Source code for each sample program is also on the CD.
