Damaged WordPerfect Files?

by From the Internet - March 18, 2000 at 03:03:07:

“WP8REST.EXE is a utility to restore damaged Corel WordPerfect documents. Originally designed to fix problems reported with password-protected files, it is also often useful for repairing various other document problems, such as corrupted files. This utility will work with documents created in Corel WordPerfect for Windows 6.x and newer.”

If you occasionally encounter a file that won’t open without crashing WordPerfect, you may want to keep this utility on hand. Download this small program, called wp8rest.exe, from Corel’s Web site at—

http://www.corel.com/support/ftpsite/pub/wordperfect/wpwin/8/cwps8.htm

Install the utility by running the file you downloaded, then start the utility from— http://www.\corel\suite8\programs\pwdfix\wpd8rest.exe.

The onscreen instructions guide you through the process of extracting the contents of the corrupted file to a clean file.
