Zapper—A Neat Freebie

Zapper Technologies has a neat program that you can download from Zapper.Com.

This is a “consumer” search application that delivers precise content and services from any Web site in a single mouse click. Zapper has an interactive engine that can eliminate the frustration in attempting to locate just what you are looking for online.

Using Zapper, you control-right-click on the title of interest. Zapper then supposedly can connect you to anything related to that title anywhere on the Internet. It you do not know where to locate the precise information you desire, Zapper can determine the contextual meaning of the selected word or phrase and provide the best results using a variety o search resources.

As an example, if you control-right-click on “jaguar” in a document, the semantic analysis technology of the program determines if it refers to the animal, a car, a sports team or any other relevant meaning. It then submits the context-enhanced query to multiple search engines and specific sites, producing relevant results.

If you are like me, your searches require going to a Search Engine, e.g. Yahoo’s Google, typing the key word, waiting for the search to end, then opening up a series of websites until the desired info is found. This program cuts out a lot of that effort.

(There is another similar program called “KnowAll” a trial copy of which can be downloaded from their website.)

The Zapper application is about 760kb, so the estimated download time at 56k is under 2.5 minutes.

[Ed Note: Be aware, this program is advertising driven and may track your Internet activity. Also, it may be hard to uninstall. Read the license before you install this program.]
