NOCCC
Electronic Waste Collection Day

The use and abuse of personal computers has created a tremendous problem. How is computer equipment to be properly disposed so that the hazardous substances (such as lead, nickel, mercury, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, and zinc) do not contaminate the environment?

NOCCC has the solution!
For one day, we will give members an opportunity to safely recycle their useless equipment.
Products may include televisions, monitors (CRT, LCD, and plasma), laptop computers, PDAs, VCRs, printers, cell phones, desktop computers, calculators, and audio-video equipment. Each item must be in a safe to handle condition (no broken glass, no foreign toxic chemicals, no dangerous condition).

Bring these items to the Sunday, August 05, 2007 meeting (from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.). Go to the Chapman University Hashinger Science Center parking lot.
Not all items are acceptable. Talk to the NOCCC volunteers about what items will be taken. Do not leave any items in the parking lot unless instructed to do so.
NOCCC reserves the right to refuse any and all items.

General Meeting
Main Meeting (2:00 p.m. in Irvine Auditorium)
CMS Products.
Daniel Reilly of CMS Products (www.cmsproducts.com) will demonstrate their products. CMS is a local (Costa Mesa, CA) manufacturer of hard drive data backup systems for notebook and desktop personal computers as well as for server systems. They have won numerous awards for their products and have been in business for over 20 years.

Their backup systems come with a three-year warranty and they offer systems with data transfer rates up to 3GB/sec. Their ABS backup systems back up your data in its native format. It is the only system that offers a 20-minute disaster recovery from a hard drive failure by being able to install the backup hard drive into your notebook or desktop computer. With other backup systems, you will need rescue software, a new hard drive and about 2 to 6 hours of your valuable time for data transfer to the new hard drive.
Presented by Daniel Reilly, CMS Products (www.cmsproducts.com).
