- How To Put Together A Wireless Network
Wireless home networking is the latest rage. Even thought there are hundreds of hardware devices available, basic
wireless networks are simple to assemble and configure. NOCCC member Joe Vezeau (Project Manager, CompUSA in Fountain Valley)
will share his weath of information about equipment, vendors, security, and configuration.
Joe will bring an assortment of wireless equipment and computers to setup and
configure as a typical home network.
As a special addition to this program, a representative from Belkin
Corp (http://www.belkin.com/) will be there to answer questions and demonstrate
additional installations and their excellent hardware.

The chipset is the unsung hero of the computer. It determines the possible options and configurations
available for the motherboard. It permits and limits the type of microprocessor, memory (SDRAM, RDRAM, etc.), bus speeds,
memory caches, etc.
One chipset creates a speed demon. Another chipset creates a tightly integrated
package with video, networking, modem, IEEE1394, USB 2.0, parallel and serial ports, etc.
