APCUG encourages its members to become Data Privacy Week Champions. It’s free and all you need to do is go to http://www.staysafeonline.org/events-programs/  , scroll down the page, click on "Data Privacy Week" JANUARY 21 - 27, 2024
Millions of people are unaware of and uninformed about how their personal information is being used, collected or shared in our digital society. Data Privacy Week aims to empower individuals and companies to protect their data

Data Privacy Day began in the United States and Canada in January 2008 as an extension of the DPD celebration in Europe. Data Protection Day commemorates the January 28, 1981, signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection. DPD is now a week long celebration for everyone and is now DPW.

DPW is led by the National Cyber Security Alliance, a nonprofit, public-private partnership dedicated to cybersecurity education and awareness.

In addition to Privacy Tips you will find many resources to share with your members or videos to show at your January meeting (Privacy Library). They also have a nifty page that has links to where you can Check Your Privacy Settings. It is one-stop shopping for various companies on how to update privacy settings wherever and however you go online. http://www.staysafeonline.org/resources.
